Older than the London Ritz, younger than the Savoy, no other hotel in kenya has as rich history as the Norfolk, one of the worlds most romantic hotels. When it first opened on christmas of 1904, it was to spearhead traditions, which are still unmatched today. Nairobi as a capital of kenya grew all around the Norfolk.
It soon became a gathering place for new arrivals, businessmen and government officials. Big game hunters, with clients such as aristocrats and adventurers who came to experience the new kenya, started their safaris here. It was an island of civilized comfort in the early wild and dusty days of this country.
The guest list made its legend and still does so today .because of the excellent service and the fine cuisine it is now a member of "the leading hotels of the world".
