TE33 • 8 Days Kilimanjaro Lemosho Route Climbing

Tour Summary: Most reasonably fit and properly guided climbers can experience the triumph of reaching the crater rim with little more than a walking stick, warm clothing and determination. Those who reach Uhuru Point, the actual summit, or Gilman's points, will have earned their climbing certificates and their memories.
Day 1 Nairobi-Moshi
Leave Nairobi with the 8:00 am shuttle bus to Moshi arriving by 3:30pm. Bed and breakfast in a mid-class hotel
Day 2 Moshi-Lemosho
Transfer to Lemosho gate (1890m) where the trekking starts. Hike for 10 km to Mti Mkumbwa camp (2650m) for dinner and overnight. Hiking Time 3-4 hrs.
Day 3 Mti Mkumbwa Camp-Shira One Camp
Hike for 12 km to Shira one camp (3610m) for dinner and overnight. Hiking Time: 5-6 hrs.
Day 4 Shira One Camp-Shira Two Camp
Hike for 5 km to Shira two camp (3850m) for dinner and overnight. Hiking Time: Approximately 4-5 hrs.
Day 5 Shira Two Camp-Barranco Hut
Hike to either barranco hut (3900m) 12km or to Lava tower camp (4500m) 8 km for dinner and overnight.
Day 6 Barranco Hut-Barafu Hut
Hike for 12 km to Barafu hut (4700m) or 3 km to Arrow glacier camp (4800m) for dinner and overnight.
Day 7 Uhuru Peak
Attempt Uhuru peak (5896m) at 1:30 am. After sunrise descend to Barafu hut for breakfast and then to Mweka hut (3300m) for dinner and overnight.
Day 8 Descent
Leave the mountain via Mweka gate for a short drive to your hotel in Moshi where we accommodate you on bed and breakfast basis where the tour ends.
