TM06 • 4 Days :: Mt. Kenya Climb Sirimon Route

Tour Summary: Much more scenic than Naromoru and it is on the drier side of the mountain which offers some of the finest walking. Climb up through forest into a wide ridge approach to the summit area. The route starts on the northwest side of the mountain near Nanyuki. Access is adequate and the bunk house facilities are the best on this side of the mountain.
Day 1 Nairobi-Sirimon
Depart from Nairobi at 7:30am. Drive for 4 hrs to Nanyuki. Transfer to Sirimon gate where the trekking starts. Hike for 9km to Old Moses camp (3,300m) for dinner and overnight.
Day 2 Shiptons Camp
After breakfast, hike for 12 km to Shiptons camp (4,200m) for dinner and overnight.
Day 3 Point Lenana
Attempt Point Lenana (4,985m) at 3:30am. After sunrise, descend back to Shiptons camp for breakfast. Descend further down to Old Moses camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 4 Sirimon-Nairobi
Leave the mountain via Sirimon gate and transfer to Nanyuki town. Connect the transport back to Nairobi arriving by 5:30pm.
Normal Climb WHAT IS INCLUDED:
Transport to & from the mountain, Porters, Guide & Cooks Fee, three meals a day whilst on the mountain, all hut & camping fees, all park entry fees, certificate of achievement.
Technical Climb WHAT IS INCLUDED:
Transport to & from the park, Porters & guides fee, Park & camping fees, hut fees, three meals whilst on the mountain.
